Volunteering

As a multi-service organization, Timiskaming Child and Family Services provides a wide range of Volunteer opportunities, including:

Volunteer Drivers drive children and/or families to Agency and medical appointments, court hearings, assessment conferences, group meetings, visits with natural families and other programs/appointments related to children's needs;

Family Resource Aides provide a support service to families involved with our Agency by acting as role models to parent(s) who are feeling overwhelmed and/or are having difficulties with parenting and household management;

Special Friends provide the child to whom he/she is matched with a one-on-one relationship which will include regular social and recreational outings;

Volunteer Tutors provide support to children involved with our Agency by tutoring them in one or many academic areas;
School
Supervisors of Visits provide supervision of visits between parents and children where the children are in the care of the Agency;

Clerical Assistants perform a number of clerical functions within the Agency on a voluntary basis;

Birthing Companions provide support to expectant mothers involved with our Agency;

Brighter Futures Participant Volunteers, provide support to the Brighter Futures Program;

Pineger Youth Centre Volunteers, provide support and assistance to the residents and staff of this secure custody facility.

Community Food Advisors, educate the community on proper nutrition and meal preparation.
